This is my go-to summer packing list that I constantly update with all my favorite finds. Instead of making a packing list specific to each destination, I just lump together all packing lists for a specific season! Genius right?
When I think of summery-travel outfits, I think of light-weight, colorful, comfy & wrinkle proof! Yes, wrinkle proof is essential, especially on road trips.
To be warned, most things will be linked from my favorite & usual shopping sites (Showpo, Misguided, Asos & Amazon). I love these because they have so many options and ship nationwide!
I broke this guide into sections:
- Must Haves
- Swim
- Clothing
- Shoes
- Accessories

– Summer “Must-Haves” –
Sun Screen Packets: These are SO convenient! Especially when you are heading to the beach and don’t want to bring a big bag. These packets are the size of a ketchup packet & can fit in your pocket or in any size purse.

Powder Sun Block: If you are going anywhere with makeup on, powder sun block is a must! You can re-apply without ruining anything. You can also put this on your scalp without getting your hair greasy!

Small umbrella: If you are going anywhere tropical, you know that it rains a lot during the summer months! This umbrella folds down so small that it can fit a small, cross-body purse. Comes in a bunch of cute colors too!

– Swim –
One Piece: This flirty swim suit would be so cute for a beach club or pool. The bright summery color would look extra adorable on someone tan (unfortunately, I will have to sit this one out).

Two-Piece: High waisted bathing suit bottoms are so in style right now and I am SO happy about it! ASOS is my favorite shop for picking out bathing suits because they have endless assortment for extremely fair prices.

Kimono / Beach Cover-up: Depending on where you travel, a lot of restaurants and shops will not allow you in a bathing suit. Even a kimono and shorts may not be allowed. Be sure to research the local culture in advance to see what is acceptable.
Skirt Cover-up:Any sheer material is always going to look cute as a beach cover-up, and this skirt is no exception!

Bathing Suit Cover-up: I love cover-ups like this because it’s just one item that you throw on. It’s also wrinkle proof, which is essential for something that is going over a wet bathing suit!

Kimono: This kimono style comes in several different prints! I like the first one the best (pictured below), but find something that matches your bathing suit!

– Clothing –
A top that goes good with Jeans: This flirty + fun crop top would look so cute with white jean shorts – checking the cute and comfy boxes.

An Adorable two-piece set: Is it just me, or is sage flattering on everyone? Seriously.. blonde, red heads, fair skin, super tan – works on everyone! And this two piece is perfect for a night out!

Casual outfit that goes well with sneakers: Overalls are a touchy subject for some people, but I think they are so cute! Very few outfits look cute with sneakers, which is essential when traveling in a big city!

A summery romper / dress: I love the open back, letting you show off your summer tan! If you don’t want to go completely bra-less, you can get a white lace bralette for underneath.

– Shoes –
With shoes, I always aim for one pair good walking shoes and then two pairs of sandals (one in black and on in brown). Usually, I never need more than these three pairs of shoes on a summery vacation. I will wear my sneakers on the plane because they are the biggest, so I only need to pack two small pairs of sandals!
Sneakers: I think these ones are not too bulky and comfy! They are also pictured above in the overall outfit.

With Sandals, I think the tie-up ones are adorable but not practical for travel! You are most likely going to be walking around a lot and taking them on and off at the beach / pool. You want something that is cute, but also easy to get on and off.
Sandals: These are adorable, slip on and off easily, and come in both brown & black!

– Accessories –
Lightweight, Cross-body purse: This round rattan bag is in style right now. On most shops, this bag goes for $70+ but I found it on Amazon for much less.

Sunglasses: Quay are my #1 sunglasses for so many reasons! This brand is definitely more of an investment, but so worth it for your eyes if you are out in the sun a lot. Quay gives you high quality designer style with affordable prices.

Hats: Hat’s easily dress up any outfit, all while keeping your face and scalp out of the sun! I specifically like this hat because it bounces back from being in a suitcase so well. I hate when I pack a hat and it gets so squished it’s unusable!

I hope you found these items useful, if any are out of stock don’t hesitate to contact me and let me know! I try to update this list at least once a month.
